Shahji Adam is a sports reporter for KXXV. He joined the sports department in May 2023.
Shahji attended the University of North Texas, where he studied Converged Broadcast Media. At UNT, he worked with his college’s television station, where he was a reporter, producer, and Sports Director for multiple semesters. He also had an internship during his sophomore year at CBS 11 DFW and was able to help cover various games for the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.
When his time at CBS concluded, he got a position as a board operator at ESPN Radio. At ESPN Dallas, he covered all Dallas sports and was able to cover games in person and co-host weekend shows. Shahji’s time in Radio would continue as he moved on to The Ticket, where he continued being a board operator/producer.
Shahji graduated from UNT in 2021 and got his first TV job as the Sports Director/Sports Anchor for WTOK-TV in Meridian, Mississippi. Shahji covered SEC football there, including the All-State Sugar Bowl in New Orleans and the historic Egg Bowl. He also covered two National Championships for Ole Miss and Mississippi State baseball.
In April of 2023 Shahji was awarded second place for best Small Market Sports Anchor in Mississippi, and the football show he co-hosted won first place for best High School football show. Shahji was honored to work with such incredible people during his time at Meridian and hopes to provide the same great coverage to Central Texas.
Raised in Carrollton, TX, Shahji is an avid video game player and loved attending Comic Con conventions. If you see him around, make sure to say hi!
