The “Happiest Place on Earth” and “The Most Magical Place on Earth” both just got a little more expensive to access.  Although a visit to Disneyland and Disney World has never been cheap, both resorts will be raising their park ticket prices in 2020.

In 2019, Disneyland increased their park ticket prices by more than 10% in advance of the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. In 2020, Marvel Avengers Campus is set to open, and is corresponding with another round of ticket price increases at the Anaheim, Calif. park.

There is a new five-tier system for both one-park and park hopper tickets, which replaces the old system of Value, Regular and Peak system pricing. You can see the new breakdown here.

Depending on the day you choose to visit the parks, the entrance fee for a one-day park hopper pass will cost between $159 and $209. This marks the first time a single-day park hopper pass has gone above the $200 mark.

Single-park admission for one day at Disneyland starts at $104. Rates are date-based, which means you’ll pay more if you want to come at popular times of year.

You pay less if you buy multi-day passes. Multi-day passes have also been increased between 3-6%, while annual passes have increased between 4-8%.

On social media, people expressed disappointment and frustration with the rising costs of visiting the parks.

@BiancaJelani pointed out that the new prices would be particularly tough on families:

@Sniper_925 took an even tougher stance, saying that their family wouldn’t be visiting the parks any more due to the price hikes:

If you’re also rethinking your Disney plans in light of the new prices, try this hack. According to Theme Park Insider, it’s possible to still take advantage of the old prices by buying tickets through authorized resellers. You should act fast, however, because these lower-priced tickets won’t last long.

There are also tons oftips and tricks out there to help you save and make the most of your Disney trip within your budget.

At Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, you can also expect to shell out a bit more in 2020 if you want to come and go freely. They raised their prices on annual passes in June 2019, and have done so once again, with a Disney Platinum Plus Pass up to $1295 from $1219. A regular Platinum Pass went from $1119 to $1195. Discounted prices for Florida residents went up as well.

You can see the full price breakdown here.

Will these price increases change your Disney vacation plans?
