Blue Star Mothers of Waco are getting ready to send care packages to deployed United States troops.
For more than 10 years, the organization has taken part in this twice-a-year occasion.
The shipments are sent out in July and October.
Thursday night, Blue Star Mothers assembled 50 packages filled with holiday decorations, food, puzzles, and other amusements.
Organization officers say that the cause is heartwarming and the response from troops are amazing.
“We get notices from members of the military who receive our boxes and they are just so thankful that they are remembered in such a thoughtful way,” said Janet Bagby, a Blue Star Mother office.
