The West ISD School Board voted to have new field turf and lighting on the high school football field for next school year. The field was damaged after it was used as a triage center after the West fertilizer explosion.
The board approved this measure because the field is going to be used by all junior and high school football teams for practice and games as well as the school band.
This is part of West ISD's goal to get kids back in their own schools by August.
