COACHELLA, CA — The Riverside County Animal Services said that they rescued a puppy stuck inside a spare tire on Wednesday.

The rescue happened in Coachella, CA. Officials tried to lubricate the pup's head and attempted to slip the head through the tire.

However, the pup appeared to have swelling in her neck. Therefore, the officer sought veterinary services.

The puppy was sedated to calm her.

Firefighters took turns using a sawzall to safely cut a piece in the wheel to provide enough space for an easier rescue.

The 3-month-old Australian cattle dog escaped the tire shortly after.

The puppy quickly ate some food after the rescue. She'll rest overnight and be under observation until her return to her rightful owners.
