Texas A&M vs Miami: First round CFP game and score updates

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KXXV) — The playoffs are here for college football and the first round comes to Kyle Field as No. 7 Texas A&M hosts No. 10 Miami.

The winner advances to the Cotton Bowl against Ohio State.

The Aggies finished the regular season 11-1 and are coming off a loss to the Texas Longhorns. A&M looks to bounce back in the first round.

1st Quarter (0-0)

- A&M got the opening kickoff
- The Aggies marched down the field to get into Miami territory but a false start on 4th down forced a punt for A&M
- On Miami's first drive, it would be short lived as they would only get one first down and punt
- A&M again would march down the field, but Marcel Reed would fumble the ball and the Hurricanes would get the turnover

2nd Quarter (0-0)

- Miami would fumble at the start of the second quarter but able to recover. It would force them to punt
- A&M would complete a 59 yard pass to get into the Red Zone
- The Aggies would be short on the 4th down and settle for a 22 yard field goal but Miami would block it to get another turnover.
- The Hurricanes again couldn't take advantage as they would punt.
- After an Aggie punt, Miami would return it for 55 yards to get the Hurricanes in the red zone for the first time.
- Miami again couldn't convert and would settle for a 47 yard field goal, but they would miss.
- Aggies would fake a punt but not able to convert. Miami would take over in A&M territory.
- Miami would get within striking distance, but would have to settle for a 40 yard field goal, but would miss.

3rd Quarter

- Miami got the ball at the half. The Hurricanes would make down to the red zone again for 1st and goal.
- The Hurricanes would make the field goal to get the first score of the game (3-0)
- Marcel Reed would throw an interception with over 8 minutes left in the quarter. Miami would take it back to the Aggies 15 yard line.
- The Hurricanes would set up for a field goal, but it would bounce off the left upright.
- Le'Veon Moss would be taken to the back after an injury.

4th Quarter (10-3)

- A&M would convert a big third down to get on the 30 yard line in Miami territory
- Randy Bond would kick a field goal as Texas A&M ties it up (3-3)
- Miami fumbles on their drive and Texas A&M falls on it.
- A&M would not finish the drive after a personal foul. The Aggie would punt it away to Miami.
- Mark Fletcher Jr. with a 56 yard run to get Miami into Aggie territory.
- Malachi Toney runs it in for the Hurricane touchdown (10-3)
- A&M marches down the field 75 yards in 1:05 to get in the red zone.
- Marcel Reed throws an interception in the endzone to end the game
