Coryell Health to screen patients, family members for coronavirus risk factors before entering facilities

Coryell Health announced it will be screening patients and family members for potential risk factors of COVID-19 at the front door of each of their facilities.

Patients that are at risk will be offered further evaluation at a drive-thru setting. Patients with acute needs will be referred to the emergency department.

The screenings will begin 7 a.m. on Friday, March 13.

Patients will also be restricted to one family member accompany them for acute care visits, procedures or hospitalizations during the hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Coryell Health is asking other family and friends of hospital patients and long-term care residents to not visit during this tine.

Visits to long-term care residents that are medically necessary, or in the case of hospice patients, will be allowed after approval and screenings by staff.
