AUSTIN, TX — The Austin Police Department helped a pregnant woman deliver a baby days before Thanksgiving.

Officers said that they were conducting a traffic stop on I-35 when another car raced up beside them.

The driver, panicked, got out and pointed to the backseat. The mother was actively giving birth.

Austin Police Officer Tuminelli called EMS, while Officer Vandervalk gloved up and opened the door and delivered the baby.

Vandervalk cleared the baby girl's nose and mouth to make sure she was breathing. Both officers stood by the new family until EMS arrived.
