MCLENNAN COUNTY — The gunman in the Odessa shooting that left 8 people dead previously tried to kill himself and threatened a McLennan County man.
According to the McLennan County Sheriff's Office, Odessa mass shooter Seth Ator previously threatened the life of a McLennan County resident and attempted to kill himself.
An incident report states that in July 2001, a Lorena woman complained that "Ator did threaten the life of her son," and that that threat followed "a series of problems" involving Ator and his relationship with a female member of her family.
Shortly after that incident, an arrest report notes Ator was taken into cutody for trespassing and "a suicide threat."
He had been fired from his trucking job just hours before his killing rampage.
