WACO, TX — The City of Waco announced that the Waco Suspension Bridge will be closed starting late November. The city will begin a project to repair the historic bridge.

The city called the project will be a major overhaul of the bridge, and it will be the first time in nearly 100 years that any work has been done.

A part of the project will be putting a dome over the bridge. The project could take a year or more to complete.

The suspension bridge has long been a fixture for the Waco community. Baylor students have thrown tortillas from the bridge for years, and there is always a bride or a high school senior getting their photo taken on the bridge.

The bridge is also a popular destination for many of the tourist that visit Waco to see the Silos.

If you have a photo of the bridge, be sure to post it on our Facebook page.
