WACO, TX — Waco police are warning the public of scam alerts.
According to police, they received multiple reports of someone trying to use the "jury scam" on citizens. The number is even being spoofed as the Waco Police Department's phone number.
They said they want people to know that they are not calling and telling people that they missed a federal jury summon and to send them cash to avoid being arrested.
As an extra measure, police are asking people to reach out to elderly family members so they are not targeted for these scams.
