WACO, TX — Mayor Dillon Meek and other officials are urging Wacoans to cut their water use this week.

In a press release, the City of Waco announced its water plants are struggling to produce enough water to maintain adequate pressure due to high customer use and system leaks from broken pipes.

Waco residents are asked to immediately take the following steps.

  • Conserve water for 48 hours. Do not use clothes washing machine or dishwasher. Do not hoard water by filling buckets, bathtubs, etc.
  • Report leaks you see to 254-299- 2489.
  • If your house or business has a leak, turn off the water valve to your building. If you don’t have a valve or can’t find it, call 254-299-2489 immediately and request someone to come turn off your water at the meter.
