WACO, TX — Two teens have been arrested for capital murder after allegedly killing a man during a possible robbery attempt.
Around 7:40 a.m. on September 25, officers were called to the 300 block of Wagon Wheel regarding a potential suicide of a resident in the home.
When officers arrived, they determined something else had happened. The investigation turned from a suicide investigation to a murder investigation.
Investigators with the Waco PD Special Crimes Unit determined a 21-year-old man had been shot in the bedroom of the home. He had a single gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim was later identified as 21-year-old Kaden Hitchcock.
Further evidence found that the shooting possibly stemmed from a robbery attempt.
During the investigation, detectives were able to learn of the involvement of two individuals, which has now resulted in their arrest.
Police say 19-year-old Jose Herrera and 18-year-old Kyle Depolito have been arrested on warrants charging them both with capital murder.
The two were arrested by the US Marshal Lone Star Task Force and are being held in the McLennan County Jail.
Waco PD says the investigation is still ongoing.
