WACO, TX — An anti-human trafficking organization has received state funding to expand human trafficking prevention education and training programs into Waco schools.

Unbound was awarded a $200,000 grant by the Office of the Governor's Child Sex Trafficking Team (CSTT).

The program, known as "Keeping Students Safe," will train school personnel in prevention and early intervention, and teach students how they can reduce victimization and perpetration of human trafficking. It will also provide training to parents and caregivers about content being presented to students and how they can keep their children safe.

The Texas Education Agency has begun implementing requirements for human trafficking training for school personnel and education for students in Texas school districts.
