Services scheduled for TSTC student killed in shooting on campus

BELLMEAD, TX — Services have been scheduled for Samantha Dragoo, 30, of Temple, who died Sunday morning in a shooting on the TSTC campus.

The visitation will be held Thursday, November 7 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hewett-Arney Funeral Home.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, November 8 at 1:30pm at the First United Methodist Church.

Samantha Dragoo was born December 8, 1988, in Temple, to Darrell & Pamela Martin Dragoo. She is survived by her son, Jasper Dragoo, her parents Darrell and Pamela Dragoo, and a brother, Zackary Dragoo.

Dragoo was killed Sunday morning in a shooting on campus at 308 Webb Avenue.

In the early morning hours, the Texas Rangers were called to investigate a disturbance. When they arrived, they found Dragoo with a gunshot wound to her upper body. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Texas Rangers arrested Taylor McKibben, 20, of Canton, Texas, who is charged with the murder of Dragoo.

McKibben was booked into McLennan County Jail on a $75,000 bond.

McKibben was released from the jail on bond at 10 a.m. Monday morning.
