WACO, TX — After being shot and left in a La Vega park over Thanksgiving break, Scooter was in need of a family. We first reported his story in December.
A small caliber bullet had entered Scooter's leg and lodged into his spine, paralyzing him from the waist down. A wheelchair was purchased for his recovery.
25 News received an update over the weekend that Scooter was euthanized after months of extreme pain.
Over the last week, he met with several potential families for his forever home. However, Scooter was not doing well.
His foster mom said in a Facebook video that the veterinarian recommended Scooter be euthanized because his quality of life had diminished.
