WACO, TX — The Salvation Army in Waco is receiving weekly donations of milk from Borden Dairy.

Borden Dairy has received money from the CARES Act to make milk donations to food pantries across the country.

The Salvation Army uses the milk to help families that receive assistance from their food pantry and community kitchens.

These donations are helping families get through tough times.

"Well when you figure we are getting 216 gallons of milk every week, that helps a lot of families be able to stretch their income. Some of them still aren't working, so it helps them to stretch what money they do have a little further to pay for other things they might need to provide for their families." Said Major James Taylor, Corps Officer of the Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army shares the donated milk with other local organizations like Jesus Said Love and Family of Faith.
