WACO, TX — The Texas Department of Transportation says overhead signs will be removed near Forrest Street and Behrens Circle next week.

TxDOT will be removing structures and overhead signs near Forrest Street and Behrens Circle and placing temporary exit signs on the side of the I-35 mainlanes.

At the end of construction, the overhead signs will be replaced with new, permanent signs.

On Feb. 25, crews will close all I-35 southbound mainlanes from US 84 to BUS 77 to remove the overhead sign structure north of Forrest Street. This structure contains signage for the northbound BUS 77 (Exit 337A) and US 84/Waco Drive/Bellmead Drive (Exit 338A) exits. Drivers will be directed to exit at US 84 (Exit 338A) and may re-enter the mainlanes south of BUS 77. Additionally, crews will close all northbound mainlanes in this area for a duration of less than thirty minutes. Crews will stop traffic while performing work over the mainlanes and will allow traffic through once work is complete. This type of closures will occur at various times throughout the night.

Crews will also remove the overhead sign structure north of Behrens Circle, which contains signage for the northbound N Loop 340/Lake Waco/Lake Shore Drive (Exit 339), Craven Ave, Crest Drive/FM 2417, and BUS 77/New Dallas Hwy exits. Beginning as early as Thursday night, February 27, crews will close all northbound mainlanes from US 84 to N Loop 340 for a duration of less than thirty minutes. Crews will stop traffic while performing work over the mainlanes and will allow traffic through once work is complete. This type of closures will occur at various times throughout the night.

Overnight closures are scheduled from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

TxDOT says to please follow all signage and watch for crews in the right of way.
