WACO, TX — The Waco Police Department said that have arrested a man in connection with the murder of Joeangel Ortegon.
On Sunday, police served a warrant for capitol murder and arrested 22-year-old Kevin Darnell Wash. Wash is from Waco.
Police said that after countless hours of investigations, it was found that Wash entered the residence of 1903 Trice with the intent to commit a robbery on Feb.7. During the failed robbery attempt, shots were fired inside of the home where four people were shot, including Kevin Wash.
After officers made entry, Joeangel Ortegon was found deceased in the residence.
Police said they also found multiple guns and a large amount of marijuana in the home. Although an arrest has been made in this case, the investigation is still ongoing.
