The Ironman Texas triathlons have been canceled due to COVID-19.

The Ironman Texas triathlon was postponed from its original date of April 25, 2020 and relocated from The Woodlands to Waco to coincide with the Ironman 70.3 Waco weekend on October 17, 2020.

"We felt confident we would still be able to deliver an exceptional combined event," the triathlon said in a statement.

"Unfortunately, based on further conversations with and direction from local Waco authorities in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic, and with the health and safety of our community being an utmost priority, both the IRONMAN Texas and the Bicycle World Texas IRONMAN 70.3 Waco triathlons cannot take place in 2020."

Ironman Texas will return to The Woodlands on April 24, 2021. Ironman 70.3 Waco will return in October 2021.

All registered athletes of the 2020 Ironman Texas and Bicycle World Texas Ironman 70.3 Waco will be receiving an email with further information.

"In what has been a continually evolving and challenging time globally, we thank our athletes for their commitment and look forward to providing them with an exceptional race experience in the future."
