HEWITT, TX — Deputies found a man dead and a woman in critical condition on Monday. Deputies found the man after he failed to appear in court for a felony offense.

Initially, police believed the man died of suicide, but after investigating, they have determined he was murdered. His wife, Shawn Olson, is accused of the murder.

The Hewitt Police Department said that the man failed to appear at court, and the judge sent the sheriff's office out to get him.

He was wearing an ankle monitor, and deputies used that to locate him in the 800 block of Majestic Dr.

He was found with deep lacerations on his wrist. His wife was also in the home with identical injuries. The man was identified as James Olson.

Police said she was barely alive, and she was rushed to Hillcrest.

After interviewing with police, Olson admitted to killing her husband. She said she had to cut him with a razor twice because she missed the artery in his wrist.
