WACO, TX — Chip Gaines has weighed in on nationwide unrest after the death of George Floyd.

In a post on Twitter, Gaines says "What @JoannaGaines and I have learned in 17 years of marriage is that sorry is a powerful word, and when it comes from the deepest & most sincere place...it has the power to move mountains."

"So to our black brothers and sisters, from deep in the heart of the Gaines family that dates back 100's of years, we are sorry, and we stand with you ready to change."

Protests and anger over the death of George Floyd spread to dozens of cities across the country in the past week resulting in Black Lives Matter demonstrations.

The 46-year-old died in police custody in Minneapolis after an officer pressed his knee on the man’s neck during his arrest.

Waco, where the Gaines' Magnolia business is located, took part with a peaceful protest Sunday.
