Two people charged after death of 18-year-old found lying in apartment complex parking lot

KILLEEN, TX — Two people have been charged in the death of an 18-year-old that was found lying in the parking lotof an apartment complex.

According to the Killeen Police Department, on August 28 around 11:06 a.m., 18-year-old Zeontre Da'Shon Horton was found with a gunshot wound in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 600 block of West Hallmark Avenue.

Horton was taken to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in critical condition, where he later died.

On Friday, August 31, the Bell County District Attorney's Office charged 21-year-old Malik Devante Chrystal and 30-year-old Myshan Leandre Diggles with deadly conduct discharging a firearm towards a habitation, building or person.

Chrystal and Diggles were arraigned by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke, and had their bond set at $200,000 each. Both have been transported to the Bell County Jail.
