HOUSTON, TX — Ted Cruz tweeted out earlier today one "VERY SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY" for a lucky supporter to win a dinner date with him.
"You, me, and BBQ in Houston, Texas!" says Cruz in the tweet.
Cruz said that a donation of $5 or more will qualify for the date. You will be automatically entered to win.
Celebrity appeal to raise money is nothing new among politicians. Many ask for donations and in return offer a chance to win some time with their favorite politician.
But Senator Cruz once insinuated that his 2018 senate race opponent, Beto O'Rourke, was a little too Hollywood for him.
The promotion is to help Cruz kick off its #CruzCrew Spring Fundraising Drive.
The official promotion on the website reads:
