Man turns himself in to Waco Police after hit and run

WACO, TX — Waco Police are investigating after a man was hit by a vehicle while riding his bike early this morning.

Police say 21-year-old Nathan Barnum turned himself in on March 17 in connection to the hit and run on March 15. He has been arrested for failure to stop and render aid- cause serious bodily injury.

Officers were sent to the 100 block of S New Rd around 5 a.m. in reference to someone locating a bicycle struck by a vehicle.

When officers arrived, the driver of the bicycle had not yet been located.

After searching the area, officers say they located 40-year-old Brandon Rank about 100 feet away from where the bicycle had been found.

Rank was transported to Baylor Scott & White hospital in critical condition. His family has also been notified.

Police say the vehicle that struck Rank did not stop and fled the scene.
