Waco Fire Rescue was on scene after a car went off the road and crashed into brush off of Lakeshore Dr. near Airport Rd. Saturday evening.
The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Colbert Dee Murphy-Long.
Waco Police were dispatched at about 7:50 pm after a 2009 silver Toyota Camry that was travelling westbound in the 2400 blk of W. Lakeshore Dr in Waco crashed.
Police said for an unknown reason, the vehicle lost control and left the roadway, striking trees on the side of the road.
The fire department said that one person, Murphy-Long, died after becoming trapped.
The passenger was transported to a local hospital as a result of the crash.
He was later pronounced dead at the hospital, according to police.
Investigators are still working to identify the passenger at this time.
