WACO, TX — La Vega Pirates Education Foundation will award $48,167.30 to 13 La Vega ISD teachers Tuesday to support creative and innovative programs that enhance the quality of educational programs provided to La Vega ISD students.
A grant award bus with La Vega Varsity Cheerleaders and drummers will make its way to each campus this afternoon to award teachers in person.
Types of programs being funded include a 3D imaging machine, funds to purchase books for students who cannot afford to participate in book fairs, an SAT program to help students access Division 1 Colleges, a "Wiggle While We Learn" program to purchase wobble seats and bouncy chairs for younger students, and many more.
The La Vega Pirates Education Foundation was founded in 2015 and since then has awarded more than $301,924 in awards and grants back to La Vega ISD.
