BELLMEAD, TX — Bellmead police received a call Wednesday of a possible burglary after multiple people were seen crawling through the window of a home.
The incident occurred at a residence in the 100 Block of Lopez Street. It was believed that the tenant was not home.
When the police arrived to the scene, they said there were three women in the residence. One of the women told police she did crawl through the window but that she lived there.
Police say a man, identified as 59-year-old Charlie Loughton Daily, was also in the home and that he gave no indication that the women did not belong there.
While investing the scene, police said they spotted drug paraphernalia in one of the vehicles. After obtaining a warrant, police found approximately 400 grams of methamphetamines located inside of the vehicle.
According to reports from police, they found another 28 grams of methamphetamines, a semi automatic handgun and just under $16,000 in cash after searching the home and rest of the property.
Police said Daily had a large amount of cash in his pocket and was arrested on a first degree felony charge of manufature/delivery of a substance.
He is currently being held at McLennan County Jail on a $25,000 Bond. The case is still under investigation and more charges are pending.
