FORT HOOD, TX — More than 100 families were reunited on Fort Hood Friday afternoon when over 100 soldiers officially returned from a nine-month deployment from Iraq.
The soldiers were from Company F, 1st Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment. They were in Iraq supporting Operation Inherent Resolve.
In their nine-month deployment, the soldiers performed a wide variety of attack reconnaissance, security and target acquisition missions.
They were flying nearly 14,000 combat flight hours to support coalition forces.
At their welcome home, families held banners, wore special welcome home shirts and made little outfits for their babies who finally have their loved ones back at home.
