The City of Killeen hosts Hazardous Household Waste Collection event on June 13

Residents of Killeen and other surrounding communities are invited to dispose their toxic household chemicals safely at a Household Waste Collection event in Killeen on Saturday, June 13. This event will take place at the Killeen Special Events Center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Materials should be brought in their original containers if possible and be carefully loaded and secured for transport to prevent spillage or breakage.

Some accepted materials include paints, pesticides, herbicides, household cleaners, antifreeze, and cooking oils. Fluorescent bulbs and batteries will also be accepted.

Tires, fire alarms, brush, smoke detectors, pressurized containers or explosives will be accepted.

This event is also open to all residents of Bell, Coryell, Hamilton, Lampasas, Milam, Mills, and San Saba counties.
