Second suspect in Killeen shooting arrested

KILLEEN, TX — Police arrested the second suspect involved in the murder of a 17-year-old boy.

Killeen police said 21-year-old Darius York was found at approximately 3:56 p.m. Tuesday. He was found in the 4200 block of Bowles Drive and was arrested by the U.S. Marshal's Service without incident.

He was transported to the Killeen City Jail and is awaiting arraignment.

At approximately 11:52 p.m. on Feb. 16, officers responded to the 1300 block of Covey Lane on Saturday after a report of shots fired.

When officers arrived they learned there was a disturbance between multiple people and shots were fired. The shooting victim, 17-year-old Obadiah Bush, died from his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital at 1:53 a.m. on Sunday.

According to police, York and 17-year-old Zamante Alvis were identified as suspects in the case and are charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. This was the first homicide in the city of Killeen for 2019.

Alvis was arrested through the efforts of the U.S. Marshal's Service and the Killeen Police Department. His bond was set at $1 million.
