KILLEEN, TX — The City of Killeen announced a police officer has tested positive for COVID-19.

Killeen Police Chief Charles Kimble said they were notified that a 13-year veteran was confirmed positive on Monday.

Those who were under close contact with the detective are in quarantine. Chief Kimble said they will be disinfecting the department, and are in contact with the public health district.

He said changes have been made to minimize person to person contact in the police department.

Officers will now be allowed to wear masks.
