Boil water notice lifted for Killeen apartment complex following water main break

KILLEEN, TX — UPDATE: A boil water notice issued June 5 at 5 p.m. for Brookside Apartment Complex located at 3604 S. WS Young Drive has been lifted effective immediately.

A water main break interrupted water service and necessitated a boil water order.

Water quality tests have been completed, and the water is safe to drink and use without boiling.

The City of Killeen has issued a boil water notice for the Brookside Apartment Complex due to a water main break.

The water notice is effective immediately. The City says the water main break has interrupted service, which necessitates a boil water order.

Crews are on-site working to repair the main and restore service. Once service is restored, all water must be boiled prior to consumption.

Water used for drinking, cooking and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption process. Water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. Bottled water can also be used.

The City will notify residents when water is safe to consu,e.
