WACO, TX — The Texas Department of Transportation is advising drivers about lane closures on University Parks Drive.

All east and westbound lanes that cross under I-35 at MLK Boulevard are anticipated to reopen as early as Jan. 10 after noon.

Work to remove the southbound main lanes that cross over University Parks Drive will start next, and all lanes on University Parks Drive that cross under I-35 will be closed as early as the evening Jan. 10.

Traffic will need to use MLK Boulevard or 4th/5th Streets to cross under I-35.

The east and westbound lanes of University Parks Drive are anticipated to re-open in the morning on Monday, Jan. 13.

Work to reconstruct and expand the southbound I-35 main lanes through Waco will continue with the removal of the southbound main lanes that cross over BUS 77 and the Brazos River.

Each removal is anticipated to take two days and will include closures of all east and westbound lanes that cross under I-35 at the removal location.

During the removal over the Brazos River, there will be impacts to both river traffic and pedestrian pathways.
