Nursing student Alex Wilson shared how valuable it is to stay healthy.

"I could not stress how important it is to stay healthy, especially you know now trying to be a nurse and how important the role of a nurse is," said Wilson.

She said one of the many responsibilities of a nurse is to make sure her fellow community members stay healthy as well.

"One of the biggest jobs that a nurse has is education for their patients."

She said she was glad to see the City of Copperas Cove open up its annual health fair to the public.

"Historically this has been an event held for the city employees only but during a committee meeting this year somebody mentioned that we should open it to the public so we decided to do that we opened the doors to the public invite everybody in the community to come out," said Kevin Keller with the City of Copperas Cove.

The health fair this year featured around 30 vendors, and Wilson shared she hopes the city continues to invite the public to health fairs in the future.

"I think this is a great opportunity for people in the community to come to this to learn and to also you know get a nice few free things," said Wilson.
