A woman was sentenced to a little over 26 years in prison for the exploitation of a minor.
According to the Beaumont Enterprise, 33-year-old Janel Trahan pleaded guilty in September to the production of child pornography.
Trahan was accused of taking a photograph of herself performing oral sex on a 2-year-old girl and sending it to her husband. There was also evidence of Trahan sending the photo to a private group chat.
Federal investigators started a chat with Trahan and asked if she had ever done anything sexually with a child, according to court documents.
The investigator then asked her to send over photos of the girl. She sent three, two of which were pornographic in nature.
According to authorities, investigators began exchanging messages with Trahan which were detailed on how she and her husband would sexually assault the 2-year-old.
Trahan’s husband, John, was also charged with two felony promotion of child pornography charges and one possession of child pornography charge in January 2018.
In April, he was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
