A carjacking plot was foiled after the suspects realized the driver had a gun.
The driver told police two people, a man and a woman, got into his car while he was waiting for his wife outside Brookshire's Grocery Store on Nov. 24.
The driver said at first he thought he knew the man when he said "what's up" before getting in the car, but then quickly realized he did not know them.
The man then reached under his shirt and motioned like he had a gun, Midlothian police said. He told the driver, "the next thing you say, you're going to heaven." The driver reportedly reached into his bag, pulled out a .40 caliber handgun and replied, "let's go."
Police said the two suspects then left the car and went inside the store.
When police responded, they arrested 17-year-old Niyah Williams and 21-year-old Caleb Jefferson for aggravated robbery and resisting arrest.
