A yearly fair in Central Texas may see a record number of visitors at the Homestead Fair this weekend.
Organizers said they anticipate seeing more people than in the past due to nice weather.
Hundreds of people attended the first day of the fair in Waco. During the event, the Christian community at Homestead Heritage shares its craft, food and self-sufficient farming with neighbors.
Attendees had the chance to learn about the homestead lifestyle and pick up new skills while meeting new people.
"We hope that people when they leave here, they feel the inspiration that they can do it too: that they can live a lifestyle that is more sustainable, that is more whole. That connects them with other people," Homestead Fair Director Dan Lancaster said.
This is the 31st year of the fair, which attracts thousands of people every year.
If you would like to attend the fair, it will run until 9 p.m. on Friday. On Saturday, it will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
