As people are dealing with the effects of Hurricane Florence, one Texas artist wants to remind people of the destruction left after Hurricane Harvey hit the Gulf Coast.
The art exhibit Rockport is currently on display in the Library at Central Texas College.
The exhibit features original pictures and photographs taken by artist Elijah Barrett and depicts the destruction left after Hurricane Harvey hit Rockport last year.
Barrett said he began the project as a way to remember what happened, but there were some days that took an emotional toll on him.
“Seeing it front and center you know, evidence of what people had lost and how their lives had been changed. Really, I felt a lot of sorrow coming away from the multiple times I went down there,” said Barrett.
The Rockport exhibit is open to the public and will be on display at Central Texas College until November 11, this year.
