A newborn baby boy was taken to a Houston fire department.
Houston Fire said that the baby was dropped off to Houston Fire Station 63 just before 5 a.m. on Wednesday.
The fire department said that the baby was brought in from a nearby church.
The baby was taken to an area hospital for evaluation.
KTRK-TV reported that the baby still had the umbilical cord attached.
Since the baby is a newborn, it is believed that the drop-off would fall under the Baby Moses law, also known as the Safe Haven Law, where newborn babies until 60 days can be taken to a "Safe Haven" such as fire stations and hospitals.
Around 4:48 am this morning a baby boy was dropped off at one of our fire stations. Firefighters from Station 63 say the baby was a newborn and was brought in by a male from a nearby church. HPD took custody of the baby. He was taken to Northeast Memorial for evaluation.
