A woman bit an officer while she was being arrested for a DWI overnight on Thursday.
Police said they conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Nagle Street and University Drive around 2:50 a.m.
While the driver, who police identified as 22-year-old Amaya Nicolette Ochoa, was being arrested for a DWI, police say she became belligerent and tried to injure herself.
One of the responding officers cradled her head to try and restrain her, but she bit him, causing him bodily injury.
While officers continued to try and restrain Ochoa, she bit the officer two more times.
Ochoa was taken to the hospital. Police say because of this incident, she will be charged with assault on a public servant additionally.
