The suspect in the death of a Killeen man was indicted by a Bell County grand jury on Wednesday.

Raymond McKinnon, 26, was indicted for murder by a Bell County grand jury.

Temple police released the identity of a man who was reported missing and found dead on July 18.

According to Temple police, 21-year-old Hasson Lindsey Jr. was found dead on Monday, along a roadway in rural west Bell County.

Support and investigation assistance by Killeen police and by Bell County deputies continued into the early morning hours on Tuesday.

Lindsey’s death was ruled a homicide. He was a Killeen resident who was recently reported missing, according to Temple police.

On Wednesday, Temple detectives presented the case to the Bell County District Attorney’s Office. They accepted the case and a complaint charged McKinnon with the murder of Lindsey was issued.

McKinnon was arrested in Lawton, Oklahoma at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 18. KXXV's sister station KSWO reported that McKinnen and Lindsey were allegedly involved in a drug deal when McKinnon shot and killed Lindsey. McKinnon received his gunshot wound at this time.

McKinnon's bond is set at $1 million.

On July 11, officers were investigating a shooting near the area of Airport Road and Twin Oaks Drive. Police said that a man had approached officers saying that he had been shot. The victim was taken to Scott & White and left against medical advice. Temple police said that the man who had been shot and left the hospital was McKinnon.

McKinnon left the hospital and fled to a relative's home in Lawton, OK.

McKinnon is awaiting extradition back to Texas at the Comanche County Detention Center.

This is still an active and ongoing investigation.
