Police have released the identity of two suspects arrested in connection to a shooting in Temple.

They have been identified as 23-year-old Frankie Nathaniel Boyd and 24-year-old Duvalle Sommerville. Boyd is facing an evading arrest charge while Sommerville was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

Police found the victim when they conducted a traffic stop on Wednesday and found a person with a gunshot wound. The victim was then transported to the hospital.

Temple police said the stop was conducted at Westfield Blvd. and W. Adams Avenue Wednesday afternoon. When the car was stopped, a victim exited the vehicle and told officers he was shot.

Boyd and Sommerville fled the scene in that same car and were apprehended in the area Airport Road and Twin Oaks Drive.

After colliding with a patrol car, the suspects tried to run away on foot before being apprehended. One of the suspects was tased in the process.

The victim was transported to Scott & White in an unknown condition. The victim received treatment but left against medical advice on Thursday.

Out of concern for the victim's safety, if anyone knows the victim, they are encouraged by police to contact Scott & White and Temple PD.
