Volunteers help to keep Waco beautiful

More than 120 volunteers came to Cameron Park on Saturday to pick up trash and debris left over from Fourth of July events.

The Keep Waco Beautiful clean up was scheduled to make sure the park is ready for the upcoming TRIWACO Triathlon competition next weekend.

"We're trying to divert as much material from the landfill as possible and extend the life of it," stated Keep Waco Beautiful Executive Director Ashley Millerd.

On July 28, Keep Waco Beautiful will partner with Solid Waste Services to pick up trash no matter the size for free in Waco's District 2.

Mailers will be sent out to residents in that area to notify them of the pickup.
