Brian Ross and Rhonda Schwartz announced they were leaving ABC News on Monday.
According to CNN, the longtime investigative journalists announced leaving seven months after Ross was suspended for an error related to President Trump’s former security advisor, Michael Flynn.
James Goldston, ABC News President, shared a note with the ABC News staff and said their work led to changes in policy in the U.S.
“Over the years they have built a team of the best investigative journalists in our industry, and they leave behind an outstanding group that will continue to break stories for many years to come,” Goldston said.
It’s unclear what Ross and Schwartz will do next, according to CNN.
Goldston also shared a note from the two journalists and wished them well in their next chapter.
“While we are signing off from ABC News, we are hardly leaving investigative journalism. There is much more to do,” Rhonda Schwartz and Brian Ross said.
