One driver is dead after a two-vehicle fatal crash that happened west of Hubbard on Wednesday.

According to the Department of Public Safety, they determined that the driver of a Jeep SUV was traveling eastbound and was possibly distracted. The Jeep crossed into the opposite lane and crashed into a truck tractor semi-trailer.

The driver, 20-year-old Jeanett Athey, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to DPS. The driver of the truck tractor semi-trailer was transported to Baylor Scott & White with non-life-threatening injuries.

No charges have been filed as a result of the investigation.
