In 2013, “selfie” was the word of the year. Now, it’s a statue in Sugar Land, TX.
The statue is causing a lot of eye rolls within the town, some citizens asking if the city expects them to take their own selfies with the statue.
So is the city of Sugar Land expecting us to take pictures with that statue of 2 girls taking a selfie? I'm embarrassed for everyone.

Initially, people were posting on social media about how disappointed they were in how Sugar Land was spending taxpayers’ dollars, but it turns out the statues were actually donated by a resident.

The sculptures were meant to represent activities that occur on the Square, according to the City of Sugar Land’s agenda documents.
