A man was arrested for strangling his girlfriend Saturday night in Killeen.

The victim said she got in an argument with Eugene Brownlow III and tried to leave the apartment. Brownlow grabbed her by the throat and choked her against a sink.

When the victim got free, she fled to the bedroom. Brownlow then wrapped a sheet around her neck and put a pillow over her face.

When police responded to the call, they entered the home and told Brownlow to put up his hands.

Brownlow escaped through a window.

Police noticed broken glass in another home near Henderson Dr. Upon investigation, police found Brownlow hiding in a bathtub under some sheet rock.

Brownlow told police, “She better hope I don’t get out.”
