Waco Police Department officers are on scene in East Waco about a shots fired call Wednesday morning. Waco PD Sgt. Patrick Swanton says there are no known victims at this time.
Officers are investigating in the 900 block of Dawson. Police have found multiple shell casings and handguns, but few other details have been released at this time as police continue to investigate.
A nearby house was hit by some of the shots, but police say it does not appear the house was targeted. No one in the house was injured.
No victims were found at the scene, and police are checking hospitals, but so far, no victims have shown up. There was no blood on the ground and no vehicle description.
The incident had Waco ISD personnel restrict student movement at G.L. Wiley Opportunity Center.
Spokesperson Dale Caffey says it was not a full lockdown, as all activity was normal inside the school, but staff kept students inside the building.
