Jury selection began Monday in the murder trial of a former daycare owner accused of giving an infant a lethal dose of Benadryl.
Marian Fraser has pleaded not guilty to murder in the 2013 death of 4-month-old Clara Felton, who was the granddaughter of McLennan County Judge Scott Felton. She also faces additional counts of child endangerment as she is also accused of giving Benadryl to other children in her care.
Prosecutors say she gave Benadryl to more than a dozen children at her Spoiled Rotten Daycare without their parents knowledge.
The trial is being held in the annex courtroom because additional room was needed for the large jury pool called for this case. The trial is being held in Judge Ralph Strother's 19th District Court.
